Vegan Beauty Box November

I got my Vegan Cuts beauty box a few weeks ago and have had a few weeks to use some of the items. Here’s the rundown:

  • North Coast Organics deodorant in Death by Lavender: Cute little mini bar that’s perfect for travel. I prefer this to the one you have to stick your hand into. If were to have to die, going from lavender would be ok as opposed to some alternatives.
  • Pacifica Lip Butter in Coconut Kiss: This is a nice, subtle lip tint. I appreciate adding a new color to my lip repertoire. I am not always the biggest on the lip colors you put your hands in though. (Yeah I don’t like to put my hands in stuff unless I’m doing art.)
  • Earth’s Enrichments bar soap in Fresh Ground Java: This smells amazing! Vegan Beauty Box has the best little soaps. I love the smell of coffee and chocolate and it is helping my skin stay softer too. Favorite item in the box.
  • Rainbow Honey Nail laquer: A nice festive color. I have to get brave enough to put some on.
  • Medusa’s makeup powder: Very sparkly and shimmery. A little goes a long way!

Overall A good box. I like the size of the items and I will use them all in good time.  So far I’m very happy with Vegan Beauty Box and hope to keep my subscription going awhile.

I also added another few items to my etsy including this little stuffed kale.

October Vegan Cuts Beauty Box

This weekend I went to Vegfest! It was great but I got so tired form stupid lyme and pain and stuff. Sorry Caturday went uncelebrated, I’ll try to make up for it eventually. If it makes you feel any better my cat gave me a pissy face about it. I have tons of fun food and info from Vegfest which I will get to soon, but first, my monthly Beauty Box review.

Last week I got my Vegan Cuts Beauty Box in the mail. Always a pleasure. Let’s take a look in what I got this month.

  • Bare Bones face rinse with rosewater. The ingredients in this are very simple and I love rosewater in my beauty products. I love the glass bottle too. It will certainly be re-used.
  • Earth Science Frangrance Free Shampoo and Conditioner: I tend to save these samples for trips or when I go to the gym and I haven’t done much of either lately. So I am hoarding.
  • Lotus Moon Vitamin B Hydrating Gel: I really hope this helps my face as I get very dry skin in the winter.
  • Manic Panic High Voltage Lip Gloss: This was really cool lip gloss as it has a light that activates when you open it and a mirror on the side. My husband told me the color wasn’t his favorite, but I think it’s good to mix it up and have options. Let’s face it, Manic Panic tends to have bold and bright colors.
  • Meow Meow Tweet Bergamot oil: I like getting different oils to try out. Most of them relax me and cover up other smells I dislike. I liked the exotic smell to the Bergamot and that it was non-floral for a change.
  • Concrete Minerals Eyeshadow in Wicked: I don’t tend to wear a lot of eyeshadow but I like to have it around for special occasions. This is a pretty color.
  • The All Natural Face Lip and Cheeks in Dusky Rose: A nice blush that fits well into my purse and isn’t too powdery. Nice to have a non powdery option sometimes. I used a little on my lips and it’s a nice color but I prefer a different application process for lip color.

I noticed other people got a small shampoo from Beauty without Cruelty–which I got last month instead of the lip gloss. I guess there’s some variation in the boxes. To follow-up from last month, I really love the BWC shampoo, I may even switch to it, and the Fanctful Fox soap is almost out and I’m sad, it was so soft and hydrating to my skin. I love that the box introduces me to so many new products and small companies too.

I honestly don’t even wear much makeup so I like the balance of lotions/shampoos/soaps with makeup. But I have been wearing a little more makeup since I’ve had lyme since I think it helps when I look tired. The other side of the coin is that people will say, “Oh you look great!” but let’s face it, no one wants to hear they look like crap. I just tell people I look great despite being ill if they press the issue.

I’m sorry I can’t show the makeup on me, at this point I am too shy to show my face on my blog and I value my privacy.

Thanks Vegan Cuts for another great month!

And a cat in the sink because well, I love cats, and this is stuff I use in the bathroom.

Vegan Cuts Beauty Box: September

The 21st day of the month has become one of my favorites: it’s when my Vegan Cuts Beauty Box comes. I’ve been a subscriber to the Beauty Box since it’s start a few months ago. I’ve really enjoyed the fun surprises it’s brought. I am not a huge makeup person, so it’s slowly exposed me to a few new things. I especially love the offerings of lip glosses and soaps.

As with any surprise subscription box, since it’s an assortment of surprises, some may work for you and some may not. This month, most things hit the mark for me.

Beauty without Cruelty: Rosemary, mint, tea tree hair & scalp treatment. This smells great and it’s just the type of ingredients I look for in shampoo. I usually use a tea tree based shampoo. I’m excited to give this one a try.

Manic Panic Collection: Creature of the Night eye shadow and liner in raven. I tried some today, and decided the shadow is a little much for me but I like it as an eyeliner.

Weleda: Body Lotions–4 kinds: Wild Rose Pampering Body Lotion, Citrus Hydrating Body Lotion, Pomegranate Regnerating Body Lotion, Sea Buckthorn Replenishing Body Lotion. I love lotion, especially ones that smell good. And winter is coming and my skin craves moisture in the winter. The Wild Rose smells the best to me so far. I love getting several types of product from one company to test too.

Weleda: Citrus Refreshing Body oil. I got into using body oil when I lived in a warmer climate. I found it doesn’t give my skin a greasy feeling and doesn’t slip off so much when I sweat. Looking forward to trying this.

Good Clean Love: Almost Naked Personal Lubricant. Always good to have some on hand!

Fanciful Fox: Asian Elephant Old Fashioned Hand Crafted Soap with dead sea mud grains. Ooh mud. I like mud masks but sometimes forget to do them. I like the idea of putting mud into soap and using it daily. Mud helps draw out toxins, something those of us with illness need to do often. I’ve liked everything from Fanciful Fox so far, including this soap. It’s got a great scent, felt great on my skin, and cleaned well.

There was also a coupon code for GladRags, which I’ve used before. They are eco-friendly feminine supplies.

So nice to be restocked on some new cruelty-free vegan natural beauty products. Great for my conscience, my skin, and fun to use.
